My friend and I will be visiting Chicago from Minneapolis and New Orleans - any good eats or places to get cheap drinks people recommend where two fine ladies won't get hassled too much ; - )?

It is difficult to find inexpensive drinks in the Gold Coast because it is some of the most expensive real estate in Chicago. Below are some ideas.
Some nice bars to watch the world go by:
The Pump Room
Tavern on Rush (Expensive to eat there but appetizers and drinks are not too bad)
Hugo's Frog Bar (Also you won't get your pockets emptied too much if you eat there.)
If you like deep dish pizza, try Lou Malnati's Pizzeria
The Velvet Taco has good food and it's probably the best price to quality meal you'll get in the area.
Dublin Bar and Grill has inexpensive drinks for the area. It's usually crowded. The food is average at best.
There are several of the classic steak houses in the area (Gibson's is my favorite followed by Morton's but with drinks expect to be spending $125 per person.)
