Good morning everyone

Later this Spring, I'll be visiting Indianapolis for the first time ever! I grew up on the East Coast, and I've always been curious about the wonders of the Midwest. I've visited Chicago and Milwaukee, and I figured the time is nigh for me to make my way to Indianapolis. I'm well aware of the famed Indy 500, which seems like such an exciting time. Though I'm not familiar with what else Indianapolis has to offer. I'm especially interested in great museums, galleries, and other cultural institutions, as well as awesome spots to dine!

I'd be truly grateful for any recommendations.

Thanks in advance,
~Lena

If you're into museums I'd recommend visiting the IMA and Eiteljorg - if the weather's nice then definitely take some time to wander the gardens and 100 acres of hiking around the IMA, which is a little north of downtown.

If you're staying downtown our canal system is a lovely place to walk and grabbing breakfast at Patachou is kinda of a thing (they have awesome coffee!)...if you want a chance of running into interesting people then dinner at St Elmo's is fun and if there's a convention or anything in town then you can often find food trucks at Georgia St.

For galleries you'll want to try the Fountain Square area - if you come in on the 1st Friday of the month they have a bunch of art exhibits, but since it's a hipster area you can pretty much always find artsy stuff there.

Hope that helps!

Hello Becki

Thank you! I'm so grateful for your suggestions. My trip to Indianapolis is nearing, and I'm just filled with glee at the thought of visiting and exploring as much of Downtown and the surrounding areas that I can. Going to Eiteljorg as well as Indianapolis Museum of Art are both high on my to-do list. It was also suggested that I check out the New Day Meadery and other attractions in Fountain Square. And the restaurant scene seems to be so vibrant!

p.s. I just checked out your twitter page and I'm gushing over all your adorable and awesome posts. :)
