First, there is no safe cruise ship trip for a senior with COVID around.  The news is full of current stories of ships stuck at sea with a boat load (pun intended) of COVID positive passengers and crew.  Packing 2,000-3,000 or more people into a floating tin can for several days or weeks is a bad idea. Those ships are BIG. But not big enough to allow you to stay 6 feet away from everyone else.  There's a reason all cruise ships have a morgue on board. And you do not want that reason to be you.  

 
Next, although there are indeed many women who get drunk on cruise ships, if they are looking for hookups they will most likely target younger guys-INCLUDING CREW-on the ship. They are looking to fulfill their fantasies, not yours. And banging some hot, 28-year old, Italian assistant cruise director on the Lido deck at 2:00 am is the preferred way to do it.  

 
But there is some hope: Cruise ships generally want to book cabins that are at least double-occupied. Why book a single person when they can double their revenue by booking 2+ people in the same space. That's why most cruise ships charge a single passenger a premium rate (typically 1.5 to 2.0 x) for one cabin. But singles do book. So the cruise director team often holds "singles meet and greets" in the 1st few days of each cruise. There you will find, well frankly, you.  But these are typically NOT attended by anyone under 50 years old.

 
Next, you may be able to find magic if you scope out the bar with a dance floor - usually on the top deck. These will be open from 10 pm-ish to late, as long as people are drinking and dancing. IF you have game, buy lots of drinks for women who are with their GF's, and dance up storm, you MIGHT be able to take one back to your cabin, just like you would from any bar or club on land - unless - that dreamy assistant cruise director from Italy with the 9-inch personality intercepts your game and squeezes you out.  

 
Finally, all may not be lost. Rather than trying to the low-percentage plays on the ship, look at the destination ports on the itinerary.  Many, and I mean MANY of these offer day-time opportunities to session with a local pro. If you are going to the Caribbean, there are services available on virtually every island at a reasonable cost versus a US provider.    And while I'm on the topic of islands, look at skipping the cruise altogether and explore booking a 3-5 day trip to one of the special adult resorts that actually include a provider with your stay.   Try searching for this in the Dominican Republic to start.
