I just can't understand why there are some clients who would waste a providers time??? If the girl stands up a client then she is slandered all over this board but no one seems to mention the times that a client will call, make an appointment, then not show up. I often run specials to accomadate the trying times of the economy but to get treated like crap? Is it that it is thought that since I am a provider that my time is worth nothing?? That I have nothing better to do than to sit around and wait. Well maybe I need to rethink the discounted rates...

Not trying to start anything just trying to figure it out!!!

I agree!  I always have the courtesy of letting a provider know if I will not be able to make the appointment or even if I am going to be 5 minutes late.  It is just poor manners otherwise.  I would never waste your time let alone all of the other quality providers out there.

Dont see him again ! You have every right to be upset !

Kamry, you have every right to be mad and upset. That hobbyist was totally rude and inconsiderate.  It should be both the hobbyist and providers responsibility to let the other know if a scheduled appt does not work out so they can plan accordingly.

Like the saying goes:Do unto others as you would have do unto you.

I would blackball the guy unless he has a good reason why the no show!

I normally wouldn't post this but I made an appointment with you awhile back and no one answered when I called at the time you asked.  This was after rescheduling with you at your request after we had previously made an appointment.  Not saying you deserved to be stood up but I would have just preferred to not have the appointments scheduled if they would not have worked out for you.

I apologize to you seeker~ I dont recall the incident but I did not do it intentionally...I know that for sure. Could I make it up to you???

That sounds like fun.  Actually that's why I normally wouldn't post anything about it.  I've seen that you are well reviewed and could see that what happened isn't something that occurs regularly so it was not a big deal.  Hope your new years is a good one.

Seeker.

A provider can should point out clients who are no shows. I never seen a rule against this.  I rarely see no-show providers slandered on this board - after all slander means "false statements injurious to a person's reputation"

If a provider or a client is a no show, a no return call, or whaterver else, to point this out is definitely not a "false statement."  It may in fact be injurious to a reputation but only as far it is accurate.

My understanding is that the board does not allow untruthful statements.  So point out rude folks by their handle has always been okay.

One final note, if I am treated rudely by a plumber, Target clerk, Auto Mechanic, Psychiatrist or any other business for that matter, I have every right to complain about it to others.  That is the nature of business.

If a business has a rude client, they can refuse to do business with that client.  This is the nature of the free market.  Boards like this promote the truth as well as inuendo, and they ultimately keep the market in check.

The bottom line here is that good business practice means repeat business.  Good customer behaviour often means "special perks" and the truth comes through in the end as it has over and over on this board.

My feeling ist this: if a client is a no-show, tell your friends if you think this is habitual behaviour.  If a provider is a no-show, tell your friends.  What does it hurt an honest business person or honest client?  In the end, the real truth comes out and it has funny ways of catching up with us all.
