Somebody getting assaulted who is not related to a member of the parties in power usually sees their attacker get sentenced to a few months or diverted to an anger management program.

He broke into the Pelosi house with the intent to assault her. He then beat Paul Pelosi with a hammer and nearly killed him. It was more like an attempted murder.

Attempted murder is a state charge and he is awaiting a trial on that.  These were federal charges, he got 30 years for assault and 20 years for attempted kidnapping (of Madam Pelosi)  -- to be served concurrently.

This was clearly an enhanced sentence due to the fact that these were politically powerful elites.  I mean George Floyd assaulted a pregnant woman.  There are statues in homage to George Floyd.
