I have been asked this question many times the past week.  Well we have been about 10 days with no cartel violence, so maybe they are normal.....until they are not.  From a business stand point it was pretty normal this weekend.  Next weekend it should be easier to get rooms as BajaFest is over and that event took up a lot of  hotel rooms.  The following weekend will be tough with Labor day visitors.

Some time has passed and it appears that Tijuana is back to normal for now.  One thing I know is there will always be a next time, but fortunately the foolishness has not taken out any hobbyists.   As a group we are probably insignificant to most locals, but it will be said when a fellow hobbyist is caught in the crossfire.   I just keep my fingers crossed and suggest you go straight to the hotel and straight back.  At the same time I have 25 years living in Tijuana so I am out and about often.  Since Covid I have gone out a lot less, but that I don't want to be caught with the virus.
